Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches is expected to make full recovery from a recent muscle injury.
Sanches remained at Trigoria instead of going on international duty and is now looking to return to Roma’s group training sessions ahead of their first match after the break with Empoli.
According to Il Messaggero, Sanches is hoping to put his injury woes behind and make himself available to Jose Mourinho.
The newspaper claims that in all likelihood Sanches will start against Empoli in light of Lorenzo Pellegrini’s recent injury which caused the Roma captain to return from Italy’s training camp in advance.
Thus, Sanches has now a concrete chance to shine as Roma’s options in the midfield are limited given Pellegrini and Aouar’s questionable status.
