Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sport and calciomercato.com has reported today that the renewal of Kostas Manolas is close.
Reportedly, Roma are closing in on the renewal of the Greek defender after turning down requests this past summer from Manchester United, Chelsea, and even Juventus. Juve approached the Giallorossi this summer for the player before turning to and signing Medhi Benatia, but Roma turned down any and all approaches from the Bianconeri.
Now, the parties are ready to prolong the relationship. Manolas’ entourage have requested €4 million (net) while Roma have offered €2.5 million (net). The sides, though, will meet halfway and settle for a figure near €3-€3.5 million which will expire in 2019 or 2020. Above all, the contract will likely include a €40 million release clause.
