Rennes monitor Robin Olsen: Roma looking to sell the goalkeeper

Despite being in talks with reigning Ligue 1 champions, the deal between Roma and Lille for Robin Olsen collapsed in these last few days. The reason being that the French side insisted on bringing in the Swede on loan and having the Roman club cover part of his salary. Roma rejected this option as the capital club want to make any ideal involving Olsen a permanent one.

However, there is still interest in the Swedish goalkeeper in Ligue 1. This time, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Rennes have come forward as a potential new suitor for Robin Olsen.

The player, after a convincing Euro 2020 tournament, wants to find a new challenge in a team where he will get more playing time. After a loan spell at Everton, the Swede does not intend on being a secondary choice in goal.

On the other hand, Roma do not intend on accepting anything less than a loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent as Olsen does not fit Mourinho’s plans.
