Rick Karsdorp is still in search of a new club to join after being excluded from Roma’s plans ahead of next season.
The Dutchman was in fact instructed to continue training separately from the rest of the team, a clear indication of how the club is determined to not have him around any longer.
Over recent weeks, Karsdorp was linked with several clubs across Europe, including AEK Athens, Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
However, this interest did not materialize in any concrete offers.
More recently, Karsdorp’s name was mentioned during Roma’s talks with Rennes for Lorenz Assignon.
Roma inquired about the possibility of including Karsdorp as a counterpart in a deal for Assignon.
According to Il Tempo, this suggestion was promptly turned down by former Roma sporting director and current Rennes executive Frederic Massara.
Massara’s message was clear: Rennes are not interested in Rick Karsdorp.
