Roma are still searching for their next sporting director almost two months after former General Manager Tiago Pinto departed the club.

The Giallorossi’s search has been dictated by the shifting circumstances on the bench – with Mourinho having been sacked in January, and Daniele De Rossi replacing him – and within the club’s management and hierarchy.

With less than two months until the end of the season, Roma are now in a hurry to seal an agreement with Pinto’s successor and make the appointment official before the start of the summer transfer window.

According to today’s edition of Il Tempo, Monza technical director Francois Modesto is still the favorite candidate on Roma CEO Lina Souloukou’s list.

However, the newspaper also adds that Florian Maurice – the sporting director of Rennes – is also included in the list of potential candidates.

For both of them, Roma will have to be patient as they remain under contract with their respective clubs until June.
