Report: Daniele De Rossi prioritizes Roma stay in spite of Fiorentina interest

Andy Mattioli

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi is set to make important considerations for his own future.

After taking over the managerial vacancy in the aftermath of Jose Mourinho’s dismissal from Roma in mid January, the Italian technician is aiming to be confirmed as Roma’s long-term option on the touchline.

In recent weeks, numerous reports in Italian media suggested that the Roma legend is edging closer to a long-term deal with the Giallorossi.

Today, TuttoMercatoWeb claims this is still the case: De Rossi has made it his priority to become Roma’s long-term boss ahead of next season.

However, the news portal also suggests that De Rossi is being pursued by Fiorentina.

The Viola have been keen on De Rossi for many years, with existing links already dating back to 2021.

Given that Vincenzo Italiano’s departure from the Tuscan side is more and more likely with each passing day, Fiorentina might attempt to approach De Rossi within the coming weeks, hoping to convince him to replace Italiano.

De Rossi, however, is firm in his stance: he wants the long-term job at Roma.
