Mario Hermoso will be Roma’s next addition to further strengthen their defense.
Following Kevin Danso’s failed medical and Roma’s withdrawal from the deal for Juventus centreback Tiago Djalo, the Giallorossi turned to the free agent market to address their defensive concerns.
As revealed by today’s edition of Il Tempo, Roma launched talks with Hermoso on Friday night and carried negotiations forward into Saturday.
Yesterday, the club made rapid progress and overtook Galatasaray, reaching an agreement with the Spanish defender.
The newspaper suggests that Daniele De Rossi was once again personally involved in discussions for Hermoso and played an active role in luring him to the Italian capital.
The Roma boss is said to have had nonstop contact with Hermoso, trying to convince him to join while his agent remained locked in discussions with club executives.
