Today’s edition of Italian newspaper Il Messaggero has reported today that the FIGC has tabbed Roma manager Luciano Spalletti as a potential replacement for outgoing Azzurri manager Antonio Conte.
Reportedly, the Italian footballing body appreciates the characteristics of Spalletti and views him as an ideal figure for the “post-Conte” era. Spalletti’s contract with Roma expires in 2017 so it’s possible a formal approach could be made this summer after the Euro.
