The latest report by Corriere dello Sport suggests Roma may consider former Giallorossi defender Kostas Manolas in free agency.
Manolas, still without a contract after his brief spell with Salernitana came to an end in May, is being linked with a possible return to the Italian capital.
After securing Mario Hermoso on a long-term deal, Roma are still looking at the free agent market, seeking a replacement for Chris Smalling who left the club for Al Fayha.
Roma’s priority remains Mats Hummels who is in talks to join the capital club on a one-year deal with option for an additional season.
However, the negotiation with the German center back is not yet closed: Roma have offered 2 million euros plus signing bonuses until June, with a renewal until 2026 at the same figures that would start after a certain number of appearances.
Hummels, after consulting with his father Herrmann who also acts as his manager, took another 24 hours to reflect.
In the meantime, the newspaper states that Kostas Manolas has offered himself to the Giallorossi and could become a late alternative to Hummels.
