Report: Leandro Paredes among players who could leave Roma

Andy Mattioli

Nobody is untouchable, suggests the latest report by Corriere dello Sport, including Leandro Paredes.

Today’s edition of the Italian newspaper claims that the Argentine midfielder is among those who could leave the capital before the end of the summer.

Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is searching for potential buyers in Saudi, to lure offers for Smalling and, yes, Paredes who already rejected an offer from Saudi Pro League at the start of the transfer window.

Paredes’ goal is to play one last year in Roma and then return to Argentina, to Boca.

However, for Roma, an anticipated sale of his would represent a major boost for their transfer budget and a major weight off their wage bill.

With Paredes potentially gone, the capital club would secure the services of a more dynamic midfielder.

Evaluations are ongoing, with Paredes set to miss the season opener with Cagliari due to suspension.
