After another summer filled with transfer exit rumors, Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo is reportedly closing in on a contract renewal with the capital club.
SportItalia presenter Michele Criscitello claims the Giallorossi and the player are nearing an agreement on a new deal following a series of discussions in Milano.
Roma general manager Tiago Pinto met with Zaniolo’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, earlier this week with both sides eager to open talks on a new contract after none of the interested clubs were willing to pay the Giallorossi’s €50 million asking price for the player.
Zaniolo’s current deal, which expires in 2024, pays him nearly €2.5 million (net) in wages per season but his new deal will see him earn a substantial pay increase.
The attacker’s salary will reportedly rise to €4.5 million plus bonuses per season.
