Mason Greenwood is closing in on Roma.
This is the news that graces the front page of today’s Rome edition of Corriere dello Sport, which reports an agreement has already been reached between the Giallorossi club and the English striker.
According to the newspaper, Greenwood has expressed his full approval for the move to the capital, attracted by the Roma project and Gasperini’s attacking schemes.
He has reached an agreement in principle with the Giallorossi for a five-year contract.
This is an important step that confirms the player’s view of the Giallorossi project as the ideal destination for his career.
Now the most difficult obstacle remains to be overcome: convincing Marseille. The French club continues to resist and values the striker’s price tag at around €50 million plus additional bonuses.
This is considered a very high ask by Roma, who are seeking a different formula and price to reach a final agreement. Greenwood’s own will could prove decisive in this regard.
The player is pushing for a deal to be concluded and has reportedly asked Marseille to lower their asking price to facilitate his move to the Giallorossi.
