Today’s edition of La Repubblica claims the Giallorossi have made their interest in Raoul Bellanova known ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
The newspaper reports that Roma had made their first inquiries for the Torino fullback weeks ago to assess the player’s availability for a potential move in the summer.
For now, Bellanova has preferred to keep a cautious profile as he is bound to attract more interest in the coming weeks following his recent call-up to Italy’s provisional squad for the EUROs.
In the meantime, Roma want to overcome the competition by holding preliminary talks with the player’s entourage.
Bellanova’s arrival is not too far-fetched – the defender is considered a good fit for De Rossi’s system and Roma will have the ability to bring him in once they part ways with the likes of Spinazzola, Karsdorp and Kristensen, freeing up precious space on the roster and, more importantly, on the club’s wage bill.
