Report: Roma open to letting Chris Smalling go in January

Roma are growing increasingly concerned with Chris Smalling’s future.

The Englishman has been out for the past three months due to a persisting chronic injury that has made him withhold from returning to group training.

According to Mourinho, the defender is hesitant to play through pain and refuses to leave the club’s infirmary.

As a result of his uncertain timeline of recovery, Roma are said to be also pondering the option of letting Smalling go in January.

News portal reports that Roma could soon change their stance and be willing to accept any offer anywhere near the club’s current asking price of €10 million.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia are expected to inquire about the English defender in the coming weeks.
