Italian portal calciomercato.it has reported that Roma were offered Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng through an intermediary. The German side were, reportedly, willing to sell the former Manchester City defender for €15 million to Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi. However, his response to the operation was negative due to the large wages of the 30 year-old. The Giallorossi are desperate to bring in a defender before the close of the transfer market window with names such as Dejan Lovren, Daniele Rugani and Nicolas Nkoulou all being heavily connected to a potential move to the Italian capital.
