The world of football is in mourning.
Fiorentina captain Davide Astori passed away last night at only 31 years of age. All of us at RomaPress would like to send our sincerest condolences to his partner, Francesca, and their young daughter, Vittoria. Davide was an exemplary professional, but above all, an even kinder human being.
In the correct decision, the league has postponed all matches after this tragedy. Furthermore, members of Roma have taken to social media to express their grief and condolences to the family of the defender.
Monchi: “I understand suffering: what you feel and the pain you endure, because unfortunately I lived through this in the first person after the death of Antonio Puerta. I wish a lot of courage to his family, his friends and his teammates, and to Fiorentina and Italian football. Rest In Peace, Davide Astori.”

Auguro molto coraggio ai suoi familiari, ai suoi amici e ai suoi compagni, alla Fiorentina e al calcio italiano. RIP Davide Astori pic.twitter.com/eHuSTmG2pm— Monchi (@leonsfdo) March 4, 2018
