RomaPress – Roma and attacker Stephan El Shaarawy share the same objective when the transfer market reopens in just over 72 hours: a reunion.
The 28 year-old was set to rejoin the Giallorossi in early October but delays in Diego Perotti’s move to Fenerbahçe didn’t leave enough time for the deal to be finalised. Despite being left disappointed, “Il Faraone” is determined to ensure that a January move is completed to Roma as he eyes a place in Italy’s Euro 2021 squad.
The feeling is the same for manager Paulo Fonseca — the Portuguese tactician has already expressed to Vice President Ryan Friedkin that he wants to bring the Italian attacker to the club as a versatile forward is at the top of his wish list.
El Shaarawy’s parent club, Shanghai Shenhua, has already agreed to allow him to leave on loan when the transfer window reopens in the coming days.
A source from the Chinese club informed RomaPress earlier today that finding a deal with the Giallorossi should be simple, however, they also claimed that they haven’t heard from any Roma representatives since last month.
Meanwhile, Manuel El Shaarawy, the player’s brother and agent, is expected to meet with Roma CEO Guido Fienga within the week as Ryan Friedkin has already given his “OK” for the return of El Shaarawy.
