Roma defender and captain Gianluca Mancini was handed a severe suspension following his outburst in the final minutes of added time in the Derby with Lazio.
On Wednesday night, Mancini was sent off by Daniele Orsato near the end of the narrow loss to the Biancocelesti.
However, today’s suspension – which will be valid for three rounds of the next Coppa Italia edition – was severe due to Mancini’s post-match behavior.
According to the Lega Serie A, Mancini was punished for approaching Orsato after the match, waiting for him and directing insulting remarks at him outside of the referee’s dressing room, and encouraging his teammates not to shake hands with the referee after the final whistle.
Additionally, Mancini was fined €10,000.
