Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport details how Ivan Juric apologized to Mats Hummels a few minutes after the coach’s dismissal on Sunday.
According to the Italian newspaper, following the phone call from Dan Friedkin, notifying him of his sacking, Juric headed into the locker room to say goodbye to the players.
While thanking the team for their effort despite the unfavorable results, Juric is also said to have shaken Hummels’ hand and apologized to the German veteran for not utilizing him more.
The apologies were not personal but of strict tactical nature.
