Riccardo Calafiori is increasingly closer to Arsenal and his transfer from Bologna will also make Roma happy.

The Giallorossi will earn a sum from the defender’s sale to the Gunners.

This gain comes from the percentage that the Giallorossi will receive from Basel thanks to the contract stipulated at the time of the player’s sale to Switzerland, orchestrated by Tiago Pinto.

In 2022, Calafiori left Roma for around 1.5 million euros plus 40% on his future resale. From the sale of the defender, Basel not only earned the 4 million euros from the sale – in fixed fee – but also 50% of what Bologna will earn – in bonuses – from the resale of the former Giallorossi player.

Roma, based on the agreement with the Swiss club, is entitled to 40% of Basel’s entire proceeds, made up of both the fixed part (4 million euros) and the bonuses (50% of the resale).

40% of the fixed fee has already been paid by Basel to Roma, amounting to approximately 2 million euros. Now the bonuses remain to be collected, which net of various commissions, should be around 8 million euros, writes Il Romanista.
