The future of Riccardo Calafiori remains uncertain: less than a week away from the transfer window deadline, the player is still without a team after being excluded from Mourinho’s plans earlier in July. The Italian fullback was recently linked with Serie B side Frosinone who, under coach Fabio Grosso, want to secure more reinforcements to fight for promotion.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Calafiori’s transfer to Frosinone is complicated given the player’s considerable wages and the looming interest of Serie A clubs such as Cremonese and Salernitana. Moreover, Roma want to make Calafiori’s transfer permanent.
However, a deal could be facilitated thanks to Calafiori’s agent who also manages several players at Frosinone and thus has good relations with the club from the Lazio region.
The 20-year-old is pushing for an exit from the capital as the threat of remaining without a team until January is becoming more concrete with each day.
