Rick Karsdorp joining Atalanta on loan with an obligation to buy

Atalanta appear to have found their replacement for wingback Timothy Castagne, who is joining Leicester City, as they have acquired Roma fullback Rick Karsdorp, according to Sky Sport.

Reportedly, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will welcome the Dutch wide man on loan, which will become an obligation to buy for €7 million if Karsdorp features in 60% of La Dea’s fixtures.

Roma acquired Karsdorp in the summer of 2017 from Feyenoord for a fee of €14 million plus up to €5 million in potential bonuses.

The defender, who has been touted as one of the biggest flops during former sporting director Ramon Monchi’s tenure in the Italian capital, leaves the club having made only 15 appearances for the Giallorossi and did not register a single goal or an assist.
