Dutch fullback Rick Karsdorp returned to Roma’s starting eleven in last night’s win over Frosinone.
Despite earlier reports suggesting Mourinho may consider giving a start to either Zeki Celik or Rasmus Kristensen, Karsdorp was ultimately the one to start alongside Gianluca Mancini and Evan Ndicka.
With Bryan Cristante slotting in as an additional centreback in the absence of Diego Llorente and Chris Smalling, Karsdorp was allowed to move further up the pitch, with more freedom to play in the attack.
In today’s Italian media reports, Karsdorp was prominently voted as one of the best performers of the night along with Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.
The Dutchman received a standing ovation from the Olimpico crowd while exiting the pitch in the second half.
