Nicola Zalewski’s heroics in the recent outing with Poland did not go unnoticed.
The Roma winger was the protagonist of Roma’s 3-2 win over Scotland a few days ago, drawing two penalties and scoring the winner in added time.
Poland’s captain, Robert Lewandowski, applauded his younger teammate’s efforts.
“It takes courage and a great mentality to decide like this a match that we were drawing due to the incredible comeback of the Scots,” said Lewandowski to reporters.
“You can see that Nicola is gaining confidence in himself and is becoming an increasingly important figure in the national team. He is a fantastic player for the team. Zalewski has become a central element of the group.”
