Italy manager Roberto Mancini took the time to discuss Nicolo Zaniolo’s future with the Italian national team after calling up the Roma attacker for Italy’s upcoming friendly engagements.

In his press conference ahead of the friendly Albania, Mancini explained the decision-making which led him to give Zaniolo a chance after eight months.

“Zaniolo is an important resource for us, he can give us a lot and will improve from all points of view because of his natural quality,” Mancini said.

“He is a young lad and he can only get better in the years to come,” he added.

“Zaniolo, for the qualities he has and for whom I consider him as a player, can play as a midfielder, but he also often plays as a winger and can cover that position as well.”
