Former Roma attacker Roberto Pruzzo shared his thoughts on the eve of the highly anticipated Derby with Lazio.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Pruzzo stated, “It would be important to not lose this derby. If Roma manage to win, then everything will be fixed. Winning the derby is a huge boost for a team’s confidence.”
“The schedule that they face after this is a real pain. Roma must do everything to win the match,” he added.
“I think the team had a strong motivation going into this match, although in recent weeks they’ve looked more tired.”
“Some players have benefited from the coaching change. Paredes is playing a little faster, El Shaarawy was playing less but was solving games even when he came on at the end. The players responded positively to the requests of a young coach who arrived with great motivation.”
“Can Roma qualify for Champions League? They can do it, especially if there are five qualification places in the league. The team is worth fifth, sixth place as in recent years, even if it has the added value in the two players up front such as Dybala and Lukaku that no one else has. Now comes the difficult part, but they can do it. Atalanta is a strong team, but they could get distracted by Liverpool in the Europa League. Then there’s Bologna that doesn’t stop.”
