Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen arrived in Birmingham this morning to undergo his medical examinations and finalise his move to Aston Villa.
Sky Sport reports the Swedish international is joining the Premier League side on loan until June. There’s also an option within the agreement that allows Villa to make the deal the permanent for €3.5 million.
As a result, Olsen’s loan deal with Sheffield United, who he joined last summer from Roma, will be prematurely terminated.
The veteran was keen on leaving the Championship side after recently losing his place to Wes Foderingham. Olsen suffered an injury during the international break in late November and was unable to win back his starting spot.
He departs Sheffield United after making a total of 11 appearances with the club.
