The controversy from Roma-Inter still lingers. Gianluca Rocchi, the referee who oversaw the match and was responsible for missing a clear penalty on Nicolo Zaniolo, will, according to Ansa, present a complaint to the Public Prosecutor of Bologna through his lawyer. Reportedly, Rocchi is ready to denounce those who he claims “defamed” him following his poor refereeing display.
Gabriele Bordoni, who is the lawyer of Rocchi, commented, “I believe this is the correct position to take because we must distinguish the colorful criticisms that often happen during a football match from free-flowing verbal aggression”.
