Atletico Madrid star Rodrigo Riquelme is reportedly keen on the possibility of playing in the Eternal City.
Over recent days the Giallorossi have been tracking the 24-year-old winger and now seem to be locked in talks for a successful deal on a permanent basis.
The news of these last few hours is that Riquelme has opened up to the transfer to the capital, reports Corriere dello Sport.
This is certainly one more reason for Roma to believe in getting the deal done within the coming weeks.
Negotiations are far from simple because the cost of the Spaniard is around €30 million.
Roma don’t want to pay out such a high sum also by virtue of the operations they are carrying out to cover other positions in need of reinforcements.
Riquelme is a name that Daniele De Rossi really likes. The Spaniard is certainly a more affordable choice in terms of figures and at the same time can satisfy the coach.
There remains an issue to be resolved linked to his possible arrival: because according to the Spanish media, Riquelme would have been included in Spain’s preliminary list for the Olympics.
If he were to be utilized by the national team in Paris, his arrival would be postponed, among other things, causing him to miss practically all of his summer preparation with Roma.
