According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibanez has climbed Mourinho’s preference list and is now considered one of his most trusted men. The Special One paid him numerous compliments in recent interviews, recognizing his growth and development under all aspects.
Together with Chris Smalling and Gianluca Mancini, Ibanez represents the kind of defender Mourinho seeks for his team. The player is now being scouted by the Brazilian national team as well as Roberto Mancini’s Italy.
