Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez is off to a hot start in the opening to Roma’s new season. The 23-year-old centre-back is steadily climbing in the ranks of Jose Mourinho’s favourites in the Giallorossi’s current squad.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibanez has grown into a leading team figure over recent months and is now the player with most minutes on the pitch so far this season.
He’s featured in all of Roma’s seven official engagements and is once more ready to enter the pitch tonight to face Helsinki from the start.
Ibanez’s growth hasn’t gone unnoticed by Tite – Brazil’s coach – who recently granted the Roma defender his first national team call-up.
