Roger Ibanez discusses his time at Roma, rapport with Mourinho

Andy Mattioli

Roma defender Roger Ibanez spoke about the capital club during his last outing with Brazil’s national team.

In recent days, Ibanez gave an interview to the Brazilian podcast Bola Nas Costas where he discussed a variety of topics including his years at Roma and working with Jose Mourinho.

“This year we wanted to win the Europa League at all costs and we set out with that objective in mind. The Conference League win was great because it was the first edition of the tournament – a really big deal,” he said.

“The scudetto is everyone’s dream. Roma are a giant club, so you already know the pressure the fans will put on you because they are very passionate, so it’s normal. The important thing is to give your best to try to win.”

“Mourinho? He’s quite moody. Some days he smiles all the time, while during others you can’t even say good morning to him. When you win two games in a row he walks around hugging everybody.”
