Roma defender Roger Ibañez may soon get his chance to be called up by Roberto Mancini and wear for the first time Italy’s colours.
Il Tempo reports that Ibañez is nearing his long-awaited double citizenship, allowing him to have an Italian passport as well.
The procedure should be successfully concluded by September at the latest, informs the newspaper.
From then on, the 23-year-old centre-back will be eligible to play for the Italian national team.
