Roger Ibañez has been rewarded for his consistent performances in a Roma shirt with an automatic contract renewal.
According to Il Tempo, the Brazilian centre-back’s performances have triggered several bonuses – one of them being a contract extension of one more year and a raise in salary which was approved by Mourinho himself.
The Special One reportedly gave the green light to a salary raise for Ibañez from €900,000 to €1.4 million right before Christmas.
Moreover, the release clause of €80 million is still in place as Ibañez continues to draw interest from abroad.
The player is considered pivotal for Roma’s long-term project and all signs point to the 23-year-old remaining in the Italian capital for years to come.
