Roma’s big match struggles were on full display this evening as they were hammered by Inter 3-0 in the Italian capital, their seventh league defeat of the season.

The Nerazzurri ran riot over José Mourinho’s men and scored all three of their goals within the first 40 minutes of the clash, including a goal from ex-Roma striker Edin Dzeko.

For the Giallorossi, the loss deals a huge blow to their top four aspirations as they’re unable to, once again, defeat a European place opponent.

“Even under normal circumstances, Inter are stronger than us,” began Mourinho during his post match press conference with DAZN.

“Last year they finished ahead of us by 29 points and tonight we were very limited because of all the absences we dealt with. We had virtually zero offensive potential on the pitch.”

“Then at the back, we have to play with Ibanez as fullback…it makes it a difficult to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.”

“However, we can’t concede goals like the second and third one, that can’t happen. But the story is that Inter are stronger than us even if we were under normal circumstances.”

“So I give my congratulations to them.”
