Tammy Abraham was the hero of the night with a brilliant goal in the first half to give Roma the lead and help seal the game. The team’s defensive effort was also on full display tonight, limiting Atalanta to four shots on target.

The Englishman was interviewed at the end of the game by DAZN and highlighted the team’s sense of unity, “Just look at the way we celebrated today– that’s how much this means to us.”

Abraham pointed out the importance of the supporters at the Stadio Olimpico. “The fans supported us from the first minute to the very end. It was an incredible feeling to be able to get this result all together like we did tonight.”

When asked what helped the team regroup the way they did following the disappointing loss against Juve, Abraham replied, “Staying together, that’s what helped us. Just look at the way we played and fought today, a few months ago we wouldn’t have won. Tonight we get to celebrate a team victory.”

On kissing the badge, the Roma striker stated, “I give everything for my team. I went through a tough stretch in my career. Roma helped me get back on top and gave me the confidence I badly needed. Now it’s up to me to repay this club.”

“I’m having fun every time I step on the pitch and I want to thank the fans for that. I love them.”
