Roma responded in the best way possible from their humiliating defeat to Cremonese last week by defeating Juventus 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Gianluca Mancini’s thunderstrike early in the second half was enough to secure the Giallorossi all three points and subsequently snapping the Bianconeri’s four-match winning streak in Serie A.

The victory also gives the Giallorossi a big boost in Serie A’s race for top four after both Atalanta and Milan dropped points this weekend. The capital club now sit fourth in the table with 47 points, only three behind second placed Inter.

As for tonight’s showdown, it was an incredibly tight affair between the two sides, with scoring chances coming at a premium.

Both veteran shot stoppers Rui Patricio and Wojciech Szczesny pulled-off a series of superb saves, preventing both teams from finding the back of the net.

However, Gianluca Mancini would break the deadlock just minutes after the break. The defender’s thundering 25-yard effort whished past Szczesny’s grasp and proved to be the only goal of the game.

The Bianconeri poured men forward in the final twenty minutes but still couldn’t find an equaliser. Frustration inevitably boiled over the final minutes when Moise Kean was sent off thirty seconds after entering.

The attacker kicked-out at Gianluca Mancini’s legs and was immediately shown red by referee Fabio Maresca.
