Roma extended their winning streak in all competitions to three after defeating Torino 1-0 this evening in the Italian capital.
A first-half strike from Tammy Abraham, his fourth league goal of the season, proved to be enough for José Mourinho’s men, who needed a win in order to keep pace with Atalanta.
Despite enjoying nearly 70% possession, the Granata were left frustrated by Roma and ended the match with an xG (expected goals) under 1.00.
Roma, meanwhile, once again found themselves on the wrong end of a baffling refereeing mistake late in the first half, which could have extended their lead.
Speaking at full-time, Abraham was asked about how he’s enjoying himself at the club since joining from Chelsea on a permanent deal.
“As I said before, I’ve loved this club since day one,” he said smiling to DAZN. “Right away I felt at home. There’s nothing better than scoring in front of these supporters.”
“This was a tough match, there were some delicate moments for us.”
“But I kept my cool and stayed focused. I didn’t want to show any nervousness.”
