Roma and Atalanta shared the spoils this evening in the Italian capital, drawing 1-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.
A late goal from Bryan Cristante earned the Giallorossi a point against the Bergamo-based side, keeping them seventh in the Serie A table.
The draw means Roma, once again, failed to win against a team within the top seven of the table – something that continues to puzzle manager Paulo Fonseca.
“It’s hard to explain, it’s always difficult to play against these teams, but we made a mistake in a decisive moment,” he said to DAZN.
“Even though we didn’t win, we still played well – we faced a great team. They had a lot of chances to score on the counter, but we got a lot of our marking wrong. However, we played better in the second half and the team showed personality.”
He continued, “I haven’t seen anyone do well with the ball against Atalanta, they man-mark very, very well. The team tried to create chances today.”
