Roma 2-1 Trabzonspor, Eldor Shomurodov: “I’m very happy for the goal.”

New addition Eldor Shomurodov scored an 81st minute winner to hand Roma a late victory over Trabzonspor in the Europa Conference League this evening.

Making his first start following his €20 million move from Genoa, Shomurodov found the back of the net after Gianluca Mancini’s headed effort hit the post and bounced favorably in his path.

The goal secured an important first-leg win for the Giallorossi, who begin their league campaign this weekend against Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I’m very happy because the goal proved vital,” he explained to Sky Sport.

“However, we’ve got to be ready for our next match in three days as we begin our league campaign. I must continue improving under Mourinho.”
