Roma accelerate exit discussions for Pastore

Roma are attempting to accelerate an exit for midfielder Javier Pastore after relations with the Argentine completely collapsed.

According to Matteo Pinci of La Repubblica, the Giallorossi’s patience is over and Pastore’s departure can no longer be postponed. The final straw for Roma came eleven days ago when the team faced Raja Casablanca in their final preseason friendly at the Stadio Olimpico.

Before the fixture began, the entire Giallorossi squad was presented to supporters but Pastore was not in attendance. Even though he’s been frozen out of the first team by the club, the midfielder was expected to either be at home or at the stadium.

Instead, Pastore was in France watching his former team PSG, who commemorated his success with the club before kick-off. The 32 year-old then posted multiple videos of himself to social media, at which time Roma’s friendly had commenced.

The club’s hierarchy was furious with the midfielder because he never requested nor was given authorisation to go to Paris.

His actions caused General Director Tiago Pinto to speed talks with Pastore’s representatives regarding a contract resolution. The two sides remain in discussions but Roma are determined to finalise his exit soon.
