Following the announcement earlier today that José Fontes has joined the club, Roma have appointed another name to their newly revamped scouting area.
Former Racing Club and Bayer Leverkusen scout, Javier Wainer, has become the latest scouting hire for the capital club.
The Argentine spent the past three years with Racing as their Chief Scout, but departed the club in December 2020 following the exit of Diego Milito, who quit his executive role after disagreements with ownership.
Credited with playing a key role in the Racing’s Primera División title in 2018/2019, Wainer was keen to return to Europe following his stint in Argentina.
The 25 year-old will oversee all South American scouting and serve as a reference point for the club’s newly redesigned scouting group, which will be led by Fontes.
