Roma also eyeing Bayer Leverkusen’s Wendell as Spinazzola fill-in

John Solano

Roma continue their casting to find a replacement for injured left back Leonardo Spinazzola.

The Italian international is expected to be unavailable at least until January, forcing Roma to turn to the transfer market to find a replacement.

Several names have already been linked to the role, but Sky Sport reports that two names the Giallorossi have zeroed in on are Manchester United’s Alex Telles and Bayer Leverkusen’s Wendell.

Telles appears almost a certainty to leave the Red Devils this summer after making only nine league appearances this past season. Roma have already made their interest known, however, they’d only be interested in acquiring the player on loan.

The English side, though, are keen to sell the former Inter man on a permanent deal. Between Telles and Wendell, Roma prefer the latter, but the conditions would have to be very favorable in order to acquire him.
