Roma and General Director, Tiago Pinto, continue to prioritise new contracts for several of the club’s key pieces.
The Giallorossi announced last week that 22 year-old central defender Roger Ibañez had signed a new deal with the club. While right back Rick Karsdorp is also expected to sign a contract renewal in the coming days.
With a deal for Karsdorp imminent, the club has turned their attention to midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini. The Italian’s current contract expires in June 2022, but he has every intention of continuing at the club.
Il Messaggero reports that the two sides are in no rush to wrap-up contract negotiations and mutually decided to continue discussions after the season. Pellegrini currently earns €2.5 million (net) per season but Roma are expected to hand him an increase.
