Roma are being linked with American midfielder Johnny Cardoso who plays for Brazilian club Internacional.
The 21-year-old, according to Sky Sport, is being monitored by several Italian clubs including Roma. The Giallorossi are keen on Cardoso, who has been a regular starter for Internacional for the past three years.
Cardoso – who has dual citizenship – is in talks with Spezia, although Bologna are also tracking him ahead of January.
The player is also working to secure a EU passport which will grant him a work permit in Europe and facilitate a potential transfer to Italy. Roma remain in need of an additional midfielder and are thus vigiliant.
