Roma and Artem Dovbyk’s entourage are at work to make the Ukrainian striker’s arrival happen.

Dovbyk is the latest name to be linked to the capital club as the replacement of Romelu Lukaku for next season.

With Big Rom gone back to Chelsea, Roma are eager to secure a strong starting striker to lead Daniele De Rossi’s attack in the upcoming campaign.

Over the last two days, Roma decided to make a last minute attempt to sign Girona’s Dovbyk.

Despite being in advanced talks with Atletico, Dovbyk instructed his entourage to entertain discussions with Roma.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, progress was made as the player’s agents arrived in the Italian capital on Thursday to meet with Roma’s management.

Today talks continued with Roma closing an agreement on personal terms with Dovbyk’s entourage regarding salary, length of contract and commissions.

The Giallorossi will not shift their focus to Girona, whom they’re prepared to offer €32 million plus bonuses for the player. They’re hoping it’ll be close enough to the Spanish side’s original price tag of €40 million.
