Roma are locked in negotiations for Empoli starlet Tommaso Baldanzi who could be nearing a move to the Italian capital.

The Giallorossi’s interest in the 20-year-old midfielder materialized earlier this week as Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto met with Baldanzi’s agent.

The Portuguese executive is currently in Milan, discussing the details of a potential deal involving Baldanzi.

According to calciomercato.com, today’s talks have involved Empoli representatives for the first time which means negotiations are well underway.

The news portal reports that Empoli have reaffirmed their stance: the Tuscan side estimate Baldanzi’s pricetag at around €15 million.

The operation can be done on the basis of a paid loan for 18 months with an obligation included in the deal.

Moreover, Empoli could ask Roma for one of their Primavera talents to be included in the deal – Empoli are said to have mentioned the likes of Mannini, Pagano and Oliveras.
