Roma and Flamengo to finalize Matias Vina’s outgoing transfer

Andy Mattioli

Roma are set to interrupt Matias Vina’s loan at Sassuolo and send him on a permanent deal to Flamengo.

The Uruguayan fullback is closing in on a return to South America after Flamengo submitted a more convincing bid which seems to fulfill Roma’s demands.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Roma and Flamengo are set to agree on a total fee of €10 million (including add-ons) for the ex-Palmeiras man.

Club representatives for Flamengo will arrive in Italy next week to meet with Roma GM Tiago Pinto. The meeting will serve to finalize the last details of Matias Vina’s transfer,

Sassuolo, in turn, will receive a small fee to compensate for the interruption of Vina’s loan.

The amount earned from Vina’s sale, however, will not be reinvested in the market: the player is not on the club’s list and the earned fee does not count towards the transfer balance. The money will be used for the balance sheet and settlement agreement.
