Roma announced today that they have entered into a new partnership with Swiss hospital Klinik Gut, a world-leading medical facility led by Dr. George Ahlbaumer, based in St. Moritz.
The partnership will allow the club to call upon the expert knowledge and insight of Dr. Ahlbaumer and his staff in the case of any traumatic or orthopedic consultations for the club’s players – who will also be able to undergo screening examinations by the experts at Klinik Gut
The clinic is among the world’s leaders in sports medical care, specializing in a number of fields – most notably orthopedics.
“We are really pleased to be able to count on the support of an organisation that has been leading the way in the treatment and rehabilitation of injured athletes for a number of years,” said Tiago Pinto, AS Roma’s General Director, to the club’s official website.
“To be able to call upon an organisation like this, at the cutting edge in their field of expertise, is a significant added value to our existing club medical staff.”
Klinik Gut offers world-leading elite athlete medical treatment, both for surgery and post-surgery rehabilitative care.
“We have passion for sports and passion for supporting athletes and players in injury prevention and treating them with the best medical care,” said Dr. Ahlbaumer, Chief Physician at Klinik Gut, specialist in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology.
“We are proud to work with the players and the medical team of AS Roma.”
As part of the agreement, Klinik Gut and the club’s medical staff will also hold regular consultations to mutually share insights and best practices focused on injury prevention, rehabilitation protocols and new technologies or methodologies related to elite athlete care.
This regular exchange of insights will ensure a significant improvement and refinement in the prevention and treatment of player injuries.
