Shockingly, Roma have announced the departure of club CEO Italo Zanzi. The club announced that Zanzi has stepped down from his position after three years at the helm, here is the full release by the club:
“AS Roma announced today that Italo Zanzi has resigned as CEO and member of the club’s Board of Directors to pursue other opportunities.
Zanzi joined Roma in early 2013 and has overseen a period of competitive success and financial improvements at the club.
Zanzi submitted his resignation from the office effective from June 30, 2016 and agreed to provide all necessary support during the transition stage.
‘Three and a half years ago I had the honor of becoming CEO of AS Roma,’ Zanzi said. ‘Now, with the club well-positioned, I have made the decision to pursue new endeavors. I would like to thank AS Roma President Jim Pallotta for this opportunity, as well as our ownership team and Board of Directors for their support. I am especially appreciative of our management, staff and players for their dedication and hard work – they are among the very best in football.’
